Everest Dream - More Information
We are located on Everest Lake, which is a part of the West Ausable River.
The Lake is about a mile long and great for Fishing and Exploring the Wild Life.
Home to Turtles, Herons, Ospreys, and Beaver Dams, plus many more beautiful and interesting creatures.
Our 80 feet of shore is at the bottom of a slope. The descent is not recommended for people with walking limitations.
Yes, the Hot Tub is usable year round. It is located on the deck, just outside our Living Room area.
You can swim right from our shore or our private dock. Or, if you prefer, our local beach is just a few paddles away on the other shore. Wilmington Town Beach is fantastic for younger children. It's a nice and sandy beach, guarded, and with a really great playground. The beach can be accessed by water with our three person canoe, or by walking or driving about a mile.
During the Summer Season there are also Live Concerts every Thursday night. These concerts are a wonderful way of experiencing the true Adirondack soul of our local community.
Small-engine fishing boats can be launched from our town's public beach.
Jet skis or other motorized water toys are not allowed.
The Lake is not suitable for large motor boats.
Another great option for swimming is the Wilmington Flume.
Offering both Challenge and Excitement for those who would like to swim in the Natural Pool with a waterfall for a back massage. The entrance can be a little tricky with some slippery rocks guarding the natural treasure. For an extra adrenaline surge you may jump into the swimming hole from one of the surrounding granite walls.
The house is located in the village, and there are other houses nearby. However, nearly an Acre of our property is fenced in for privacy. A six-foot stockade fence is in place around the perimeter of the property with the exception of one section facing the village park, where split fencing is used. There is no fencing on the shore side, except the natural tree and shrub screen ;-)
I am always amazed how quiet it is to be there, yet you must be prepared for the hourly chants of the bells and hymnal music, from the village church.
The closest shopping would be right in the village, walking distance from the house
Wilmington Farmers Market takes place at Heritage Park (Rt. 86), just across the road from our house. Hours are July-August Wed. 9:00 a.m. 1:00 p.m.
For a greater selection head to Lake Placid Village, which is ten miles away.
Whiteface Mountain Ski Base is located just three miles down the road.
Please refer to our Local Information section for more details on year round local activities.
